Water/Wastewater Treatment
The existing Wastewater Treatment Plant in Devon required an upgrade due to the aging nature of their existing facility and technology. The upgrade project included a sequenced build including the construction and commissioning of the new headworks, followed by the demolition of the old headworks structure. The new secondary treatment was constructed and commissioned prior to demolishing the old secondary treatment process and remaining infrastructure.
The new headworks included fine screens for influent filtration followed by primary filtration/separation through Salsnes Filters. The secondary treatment process included bioreactors/aeration tanks, Membrane Bioreactors as well as Rotary Drum Thickeners and Centrifuges for Solids Handling. UV Filtration closes out the secondary process.
The new facility encompassed provisions for adding primary and secondary filtration equipment as the Town of Devon’s population grows.
Maple Reinders’ work included building new and/or upgrading a total of 5 pump stations and reservoirs for the City of Kelowna
