Located in the heart of the city centre, Toronto City Centre Airport (YTZ) provides an advantage for quick, easy, first class access for pilots and passengers. With a goal of expanding its flight service to destinations in eastern Canada and key US cities, Porter Airlines engaged Maple Reinders to undertake a major terminal expansion at its YTZ location, which included enhanced customer lounge space and additional airport gate capacity to accommodate the delivery of new Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
The expansion project included work on both Arrivals and Departures levels with segregated domestic and transborder areas. The Arrivals level included baggage claim, customs and inspections, airline and CATSA offices, business centre, and food amenities. The Departures Hall included check-in counters, domestic and transborder security screening, duty free, crew facilities (with lounge, kitchen, briefing room and offices), control tower, and passenger lounge featuring leather lounge seating, wireless Internet access, food amenities and computer work stations.
