Maple Reinders has completed several major upgrades and expansions since the 1990s for the Kelowna Wastewater Treatment Facility. The most recent contract included upgrades to the existing wastewater treatment plant, including construction of a new screening facility, two new primary clarifiers, conversion of two existing primary clarifiers to equalization tanks, a new bioreactor with two process trains, modification of the existing bioreactor aeration system to fine bubble, two new secondary clarifiers, RAS & WAS Pump Stations, a fermenter, a maintenance building, a DAF, a centrifuge, a new odour control system, an expanded UV disinfection system, and miscellaneous ancillary works. This project included installation of large diameter pipe.
Maple Reinders was also responsible for supply and installation of process equipment including submersible mixers, fermenter, primary and secondary clarifier mechanisms; UV system, DAF, centrifuge, grit screening system; membrane and coarse bubble diffusers, macerators, pumps, blowers, and chemical systems.
