Located along Highway 97 at the northern end of the City, Kelowna International Airport is a gateway into British Columbia’s southern interior, and is among the busiest airports in Canada. The City of Kelowna retained Maple Reinders to construct a two-storey non-combustible expansion to the existing Air Terminal Building, which included a 17,760 SF addition to the main floor of the terminal and a 2,798 SF addition to the existing second floor.
The expansion included a pre-board screening area, and new departure lounge amenities including a White Spot Restaurant and Wine Store featuring local Okanagan Valley products, a wired business centre, as well as second floor administration offices.
The most recent contract included upgrades to the existing wastewater treatment plant, including construction of a new screening facility, and two new primary clarifiers.
A new access road was built for trucks to two new dock levelers, including new approach and gate access and the south parking lot expansion for trailer and truck parking.
