Did you get the service you asked for? This is a question we face with many suppliers and people that work for us. Did you get excellent service at the restaurant? And how was the service from the car dealer? Good, committed service is sometimes a quality that is hard to come by because people get wrapped up in their own interests. In failing to perform, they fail to build up a reputation for both their clients and for themselves.
“Servant leadership is necessary for a constructive culture and it is demonstrated by an attitude, in going the extra mile.”
Why do some companies give outstanding service? What is the motivation? Servant leadership is necessary for a constructive culture and it is demonstrated by an attitude, in going the extra mile.
Our influence can be significant. Years ago, one of our project managers went out of his way to serve one of our clients. He jumped through many hoops and across many development barriers and succeeded. Unfortunately, he died before the facility was officially opened and could not receive a deserved honour. However, the owner with gratitude placed a plaque with his name on a large rock in the striking landscaping features of the prominent head office.
Live with gratitude for the life and job you have, serve with passion and your reward will come in many respects.
