It is with great pride that Maple Reinders announces it has developed a scholarship at George Brown College in Toronto, ON. The Maple Reinders Leadership in Construction Award was aimed to help domestic and/or international students registered full-time at the school. Specifically, they must be enrolled in the Honours Bachelor of Technology Construction Management program through the Angelo DelZotto School of Construction Management.
In addition to being a full-time student in the Construction Management program, students must also meet other criteria including:
- Demonstrated financial need as determined by the institutions’ policies
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Exhibit passion for their field of study
- Demonstrate leadership qualities through volunteer community service
Harold Reinders, President and CEO of Maple Reinders, spoke of the long and proud history the company and George Brown College share:
“Having personally sat on the Program Advisory Committee for the Construction Management program for several years, I know first-hand the quality of education that these students are getting through the school.”
He added “Throughout the years, Maple has had many students come through George Brown College, sometimes as co-op students who end up becoming full-time hires, or as recent graduates who come in on day one ready to work hard and contribute meaningfully. We couldn’t be prouder to support this next generation of construction leaders.”
Dean for the Center for Construction and Engineering Technologies at George Brown College, Dr. Adel Esayed, said: “We are thankful for Maple Reinders’ generous donation. George Brown College is always pleased to collaborate with forward-looking companies in the construction sector that are willing to make tangible expressions of their commitment to the industry by investing in our students.”
The Maple Reinders Leadership in Construction Award will be presented on April 2019 at the Divisional Student Awards for the Centre for Construction & Engineering Technologies.
