Maple Reinders’ competitive bid secured a contract for a seven-storey, 80-room expansion adjoining the existing Holiday Inn Express hotel in Kelowna. The expanded structure features new conference meeting facilities (providing an additional 6,800 sf of meeting space), executive-class rooms, business and family suites, a spacious fitness facility, laundry room and the addition of two waterslides at the existing indoor pool. The scope of work further encompassed public washroom facilities for the conference / banquet area, as well as an 18,000 sf underground parkade. The construction methodology called for the seven-storey structure to be constructed using cast-in-place concrete. With the completion of Maple Reinders’ work, Holiday Inn was able to expand its primary client base from seasonal tourists to business and conference functions.
